Enhance Security with Two-Factor Authentication

The new TMetric web app update introduces two-factor authentication for improved security, adds a visual chart to the Profitability report, and enables expense tracking in reports and on the Projects page, with expenses now taken into account when calculating project budgets.

Two-Factor Authentication

Now, you can add extra security when logging into your TMetric account by using two-factor authentication. It helps protect time tracking, payroll, and project data by preventing unauthorized access, even if a password is compromised.

An admin or owner can make it required for the entire workspace. Regular members can enable it in the Login Security section of their Profile Settings. Turn on the Authenticator App (TOTP) option, scan the QR code with your authenticator app, and enter the code from the app into the corresponding field.

Once two-factor authentication is set, re-log in to TMetric with your credentials, enter the code from the authenticator app, and click the Verify Identity button.

Profitability Report Chart

A new chart in the Profitability report combines a bar chart and a line graph to deliver clearer, more actionable insight into profit monitoring. You can see how your profit changes over time.

You can customize the chart to fit your specific needs by enabling or disabling any value on the chart and selecting the dates to display specific data.

Use the Profitability report to gain insight into your income and costs, identify what’s profitable, and make better decisions.

Filter and Group Profitability Data

The Profitability report also allows you to filter data to focus on what matters most. You can filter data by client, project, project status, project type, project manager, and date. This will help you analyze profitability more deeply and make smarter business decisions.

You can also group the table columns by client, project, and user. Grouping organizes table data in a logical format that fits your current needs.

Track Expenses Smarter

With this release, expenses are included when calculating the project budget. This provides an accurate financial overview, better budget control, as well as greater transparency and consistency.

Also, you can now flexibly configure expense processing when the budget is exceeded using new over-budget behavior options.

Expenses are now shown on the Projects page in the Billable Expenses column. A new column, Budget Usage, shows the budget spent, including expenses.
