Flexible Billing with Enhanced Invoices
We’ve made billing even smarter! You can now easily duplicate invoices, view their history, and group invoice lines as you like. We’ve also added new timesheet approval periods, so you can approve timesheets for longer durations. Moreover, you can now attach files to expenses to prove your purchase or payment.
Duplicate Invoices
TMetric now allows you to create a new invoice by copying all data from an existing one. Instead of creating similar invoices from scratch, you can simply duplicate an existing invoice and make small edits (e.g., date, client, amount).
To duplicate invoice, do the following:
- Go to the Invoices page.
- Click the actions button on the invoice you need, and select Duplicate from the menu.
- A new invoice (in Preview Draft) is created with the same data as the original one (client, project, line items, etc.).
- Now you can adjust the invoice details as needed.
View Invoice History
This release introduces a history feature for invoices. Now, you can easily track all the modifications made to an invoice, including status changes, edits, sending, and other events.
Invoice activities are recorded and displayed at the bottom of each invoice, in chronological order (most recent at the top).
Group Lines on Invoice
When creating an invoice, you can group its line items using the Time Grouping and Expense Grouping options. Simply enable the option you need and select the desired method to organize time entries and expenses clearly for your client.
Add Expense Receipts
In the Add Expense dialog, you’ll now see the Add file button. Click it and select the expense receipt to attach it to the expense.
On the Expenses page, you’ll see a clip icon next to expenses with attached files. Click it if you need to download an expense receipt as a file.
Include Expense Report
It’s possible to add an expense report to an invoice. On the View Invoice page, you will see the Include expense report button.
Clicking the button will create a PDF showing all expenses included in the invoice in one place.
Other Features
New Timesheet Approval Periods
On the Workspace Settings page, in the Timesheets section, you can now select additional periods for which timesheets are submitted for approval. The options are: Weekly (default), Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly.
